I (Maddie) want to take a quiet moment with you this morning, because Christmas Day can feel a little different for everyone. You might be surrounded by family, you might be sharing a meal with friends, or you might be spending today in your own company, and whichever way today looks for you, please know you’re never truly on your own when you’re a member of The GrayVine.

You’re part of something so special. Today there are 40,000 Americans over sixty who belong to The GrayVine. That’s 40,000 people who “get it.” 40,000 people who know the world can be wonderful and hard and funny and messy all at once. And many of them will be online today too.

So if today feels a bit quiet, or if the holiday season is a little heavy for you this year, I want you to remember that our forum is open, and it’s full of kind, clever, caring members who are always up for a conversation. Even just reading a few familiar threads can feel like sitting down with old friends. If you feel like reaching out, please do. You never know who else is looking for a friendly hello today.

Our team is also here on Christmas Day. Yes! We’ve got people working today because we genuinely care, and because this place matters. If you need a hand, or you just want to say hi, we’re only a message away.

And of course… it wouldn’t be Christmas without saying thank you.

Thank you for opening our emails, for sharing your stories, for asking questions, for offering advice, for having a laugh with us, and for making this community what it is. We’re incredibly grateful for you, more than you probably realize.

This community has grown into something bigger than we ever imagined and it still feels like a warm, welcoming corner of the internet because of the people in it. Because of you.

Oh, and remember, especially on days like today, there is nothing a hot cup of cocoa can’t fix — sometimes it really is the simple things that bring us the most comfort and joy.
